We invite you to join us at the new Foundry Boathouse on the Cuyahoga River to meet the St. Edward Eagle’s rowing squad, a team of young men who earned two gold medals in the Midwest Regional Regatta and a gold medal at the Scholastic Rowing Association’s National Championship—the best in the nation. Such success in three short years is evidence that the St. Edward winning athletic tradition has expanded to include our Eagle’s rowing program.

Please support our challenge of raising $18,200 by August 15, 2015 to help our program continue to grow and produce even more success.  With the number of athletes increasing, we are in need of additional indoor erg equipment as well as support for our safety launches. You can help us in one of the following ways:

1)  Contribute $500, $1,000 or more, with the funds going directly to the SEHS Rowing Program.

2)  SOLD OUT! Sponsor a seat for $250 in the Kubacki-vs-Good race.  You can row yourself or put your favorite VIP in this heated contest.  This good-natured race is currently tied 1-1…let’s see which leader will walk away with the golden oar to hang above their office!

3)  Make a contribution of your choice. All support, big and small, is greatly appreciated!

4) SOLD OUT! Name the new shells.  The team recently purchased two new, eight-person shells and are seeking individuals interested in naming the vessels.   Minimum bids start at $2,000 per shell and the winning bidders will be announced at lunch during the August 15th event. Please contact Coach Carlsen at mcarlsen@sehs.net to place your bid!  The winning names are subject to school approval.

 5) Attend the event on August 15th. In addition to cheering for the race, a number of participant events have been lined up, including a 50/50 drawing, a beer garden, and a silent auction (including numerous items ranging from a barrel of booze to a Florida condo to action pictures of your favorite SEHS rowers and coaches).  There will also be an opportunity to purchase rides on the rowing launches as well as tour the new Foundry Boathouse.

The schedule of events is as follows:

10:00 a.m.  Welcome and Prayer
10:15 a.m.  Training for the the Kubacki -vs- Good team members and water activities for attendees
11:00 a.m.  Kubacki -vs- Good race
12:00 p.m.  Lunch at Sainato's, with race awards, 50/50 drawing, and silent auction winners announced
1:00 p.m.  Conclusion

Thank you for your support of our young men as well as the coaching staff of the SEHS Rowing Team!
